Hee. Shud up.

My friend Dan is back in Kandahar from his first mission. He sent me a message on Myspace telling he was back, so I could stop hyperventilating. Sad, but true. I was so happy to be able to talk to him again, even if it was only by Yahoo messenger that I freaked him out a little bit. He said I was being all lovey dovey. (basically I wasn't calling him an ass every other minute) He couldn't figure out what was going on with me, so he asked if I'd gotten laid. No. I have not. Thanks for rubbing it in. ASS. There we go, back to normal.

My friend A from work and I are going to get all dressed up and go see Sex and the City. She is super excited and frankly, so am I. (Wheee! Socializing! With other people!)

Small rant: I get it that many women's self esteem is connected to their body and self image, I get that, but please for the love of god, Please! DO NOT FOOL YOURSELF ABOUT WHAT YOU CAN WEAR! I'm not talking about style, here. In my opinion, style is almost completely about attitude. With the right attitude, you can sell just about anything. BUT. The rest of your body may be a size small, but your boobs are double D's. Double D's will NOT fit in a small anything. They are not small. Accept it! They're not going anywhere. I don't mind getting you another size, but COME ON. Self delusion much? Ok, rant over.

Best comment overheard at work today:
"I just got new boobs and they won't fit in this. How awesome is that?!" (if you could have seen her, SO funny, she was adorable and REALLY excited about those boobs) (this was not the woman I was talking about in my rant)

Best comment overheard at work yesterday:
"I know, but I didn't get to sleep 'til like 5." "Why?" "Well I was lying there and just about to nod off, when you rolled over on me. Like, completely on top of me, and I don't know if you've noticed, but you're not exactly small, are you?" (my eyes were watering, it was all I could do to hold the laughter in until they left the store)

I will be away this weekend, visiting the family and I don't know what sort of internet access I'll have so if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, that' s what happened. I'll try to remember to twitter from my cell phone, but being inherently lazy and scatterbrained, who knows if that will happen. On the agenda for the weekend is a LOT of photography. The whole family (mom, dad, brother, sister and nephew) is having a portrait done as a complete family. The last time we had a family portrait done was when my brother was little bitty. He's 21. Yeah, it's been a while. My mom HATES having her picture taken, I have a total of three photos of my parents together in my apartment. One is their wedding picture....yeah. So, my sister, queen of the guilt trips conned my mom into this, for Mother's day. She used our grandma, my mom's mom against her. My sister is a genius. THEN, after all that "fun", I agreed to do a portrait session of my nephew in his tuxedo. My adorable little nephew was asked to be the ring bearer in my brother's friend Mark's wedding. After the photo session and before the wedding, we are going to a local museum which has beautiful grounds for an outdoor photo session with my monkey boy. Sunday is my grandma's birthday and my cousin's baby shower. It's a jam packed weekend, but I'll be back for Naked Monday and as soon as I get the nephew shots edited, I'll post the best ones here. (I'm going have to figure out the watermark thing.)

One last thing. My friend MP is moving and I'm thinking about following her. It's a decision I've been heading to for a while now, but I still need to work out some details, first. I'll keep you posted!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

It took me forever to figure out what to talk about this week and I finally settled on my hair. Sorting through old pictures to show you was fun and I found some that I had forgotten about. Scanning, cropping, editing.....it takes a ton of time, but it was worth it in the end. We'll go chronologically beginning with this pic of me and my Dad.....

I'm not happy about the 'stache

I put this one in 'cause that expression is priceless! Still blond.

6th Grade Christmas Play
Perm!!! The blond went away after the first big cut.

Senior Pictures
Grew my hair out for 4 years here
Pretty sure sun-in was responsible for the color

Senior Prom
the first and last time I had my hair curled like a barbie doll

Yes I wore this shirt and I still own it
I can't figure out when this was...at least a year after high school

19, I think
I wrote, produced, and directed a play for 6th graders. I have no idea how I thought I could do this, who let me, and how I pulled it off.
This is darker than my natural color, I dyed it black at some point.
the curl is all me

A couple of years after high school
21? 22?
It was taken in my best friend's dorm room at Murray University

I'm sure my boyfriend at the time said some smart ass thing, because I'm threatening him with a fabric cutter. That sucker is sharp.

The shortest my hair has been..I hated this cut at the time, but I kind of like it now.

It was BRIGHT red for a while and then I bleached it. Then, it was orange. This is how I feel about it.

with professional help...the hair kind anyway
holding my nephew, Hayden

I'm back to brown again and growing it out again...hair is...well, it grows..it changes....we shape it or it shapes us...it's hard to tell some days. ;) So there I am...Naked..at least a small part of me.

I promise to have something more substantial tomorrow......until then, here's a photo...or two.

We're a bunch of Jeep nuts. This is me and my brother a couple of years ago. Since 2002, this past summer is the first summer we, as a family, have missed Camp Jeep. Camp Jeep is an owner celebration offered every summer by Jeep so that we can spend 3 days playing in the mud with fellow weirdos, just like us. So. fun.

This photo was taken after singing the national anthem for the eleventy-billionth time for a promotion that Jeep was doing for the National Anthem Project. We lined up our Jeeps to make an american flag and sang our little hearts out while they taped the whole thing from a helicopter.

And the finished product...Stars, Stripes and Jeeps forever. Hee. The arrow is pointing to my brother's Jeep Wrangler. So, if you ever saw this commercial, I was there, true story.

As promised, more pictures from the Niagara Falls trip...for anyone who cares...and the rest of you who don't....

The full view of the falls and the 1st pic of the day....

Maid of the Mist boats....in the mist. Hee.

I stopped to take a pic of the sign and looked up to see Mom and Jared had wandered away from me...it's no wonder I have abandonment issues.

Me and Mom...I'm not on crack, but it could have been sugar......or sheer joy that my Mom allowed a photo to be taken of her....

It sort of looks like I photoshopped the water in, and it even looks like that in person..the color is so crisp and blue, but not blue...eh...I don't know.

Yep, that's my feet with pretty blue polish and the free sandals that they gave us cuz the next part is really...uh...wet.

Why we all needed another poncho, I don't know, but we were once again color coordinated with a bunch of strangers.

higher and higher we go....

now you can see why we needed the river sandals and ponchos....

Action shot!!

yeah...the ponchos didn't do much good, but man we're stylin'!

from the other side and now (somewhat) drier....

I'm not sure how he's able to do this.....

The Hurricane Deck from above.....

Oooooh, rainbows!

Another Action shot! (makes you need to pee, doesn't it?)

My brother looking confused...this is not exactly new....

Horseshoe Falls....this is the one most often seen in movies...strangely it looks much smaller in person

from the windows, you have a very nice view of the falls.....I, once again, had to flirt with the poor waiter to make up for my Dad, the curmudgeon....I was so excited to find that they served sweet tea..."See Dad, these northerners aren't a bunch of heathens! They offer sweet tea!" (I say this like I don't live in Illinois.) Sadly, the "sweet tea" was bottled tea, which is NOT sweet tea, people! Can you even call it tea if it comes from a bottle? Gross!

Next installment, putt putt golf and "What happened to my eye?"

I was unpacking this weekend (yes, I'm still doing that) and came across some old photos of myself that were kinda fun, so think of this entry as show and tell.

That's me in the middle, my senior year in high school...my god, look at all that hair! Yes, I was a scrawny little thing, and no, I'm not anymore. I wore that sweater practically every day until it disinigrated in protest.

From left to right is my cousin, Greg, my sister, Sarah, my Dad, and me in yellow. We spent most of our summers at Rend Lake when I was a kid, I shudder to think of all the lake water I swallowed when my Dad tried to teach me to waterski.

This one isn't of me, but I did take it. It's my nephew, Hayden, at about 2 months. He was such a great subject and made all kinds of funny faces for me.

This one is me, my brother, Jared, and our Dad at Niagara Falls. We look like stairsteps..if my Mom weren't taking the picture she would have to stand to the right of me...I got the tall genes. As soon as I find the rest of the pics from this vacation, I'll post them for the "reminiscing about when I had the money to take vacations" part of this blog which I have been sadly neglecting so far.

This is me...I'm one. I was actually blonde originally, but it went away in grade school...the chubby thighs...didn't.

This is my kindergarten photo, one of the last cute school photos. I had a really loooonnng awkward period.

This is me and my brother, Jared at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana. I was in high school when this photo was taken, but I'm not sure on the year. We went to this theme park several summers. I'm still this much of a dork, maybe worse.

Dorkiness runs in the family..that's my brother, Jared at Niagara Falls again. We were on the Maid in the Mist boat, the blue ponchos were supposed to keep you relatively dry, but I think they make quite the fashion statement. I'm sure Jared agrees with me.

This was in high school again, my senior year...also at another theme park..Six Flags St. Louis this time. That's my old buddy Travis...it was raining, so this is how we entertained ourselves. Gah, again with all the hair and the eyebrows. Would you believe that I put off taking care of that until I was 27?

One last one for the night, this was taken in Texas on a church trip when I briefly flirted with organized religion. (And apparently both of these guys.) That's Travis again and on the other side is Billy, both of whom are happily married. (still with the hair and in this photo you can tell that I had no boobs)
